Addresses and custom domains
Your free address, which names are allowed, and using your own domain on a paid plan.
Your free address
Every server has a free address: name.quarrymc.net. Players type it into Minecraft's Add Server
box with no port. Java uses port 25565 and Bedrock 19132, filled in for them.
Choosing a name
- 3 to 20 characters: lowercase letters, numbers and hyphens.
- First come, first served. Archived servers keep their name.
- Some words are kept back (admin, hub, play, staff, status, www, api and a few more), and rude words are blocked.
The name cannot be changed after the server is made.
Custom domains
Paid plans can use their own domain, for example play.yourserver.com. One per server; the free
address keeps working.
- In Settings, under Custom domain, type your domain and press Save domain.
- Where you bought the domain, add the DNS records the panel shows.
- Press Check now. Each record shows whether we found it. Changes can take up to an hour.
Players never need a port with a custom domain either.
Sharing your address
Share the address itself. Never share your SFTP details or panel link.
