Quarry Hosting legal requests and child safety

Last updated Oct 7, 2026

Draft. Not legal advice. A lawyer checks these pages before we take payments.

This page says what we do when someone in authority asks us for information, and what we do when we learn that a child may be in danger. It is part of the Terms of Service. We act on reports, and we do not scan what owners upload ahead of time.

Reporting a child in danger or illegal content

  • Use /report in the hub or /report-server on any server on our network. A contact address and a report form on our website will be listed here before the beta; if you have an account, you can also write to us through Bugs and ideas in the panel. If a child is in immediate danger, call your local emergency number first.
  • A person on our staff reads each report. If staff learn of apparent child sexual abuse material, we report it to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), as US law asks. We keep what the law asks us to keep, in a locked store that only a few people can open, for a set time.
  • We may act right away (for example, stop a server) and explain after. See the Acceptable Use Policy.
  • We do not scan owners' uploads ahead of time to look for this. We act on reports.

Requests from police, courts and other authorities

  • A contact address and a legal address for papers will be listed here before the beta.
  • We ask for the request in writing, saying who is asking, under what law and what they need. We look at each one. We share only what the law requires, and only about the accounts and servers it names.
  • We tell the person it is about, unless the law forbids it or it would put someone at risk.
  • In an emergency where a child or anyone else is in danger of serious harm, we may share what we have faster.
  • We keep a record of the requests we get and what we did.
